it’s wednesday, december 20, & moon is in pisces, in the starspace called uttarabhadra. first off a mea culpa: moon was in pisces yesterday, not, as i wrote, in aquarius. it happens—especially when you are writing in the wee hours & the kittens want to play fetch (yes, like dogs—their idea!) & the coffee is just kicking in! if you were feeling more otherworldly than this-worldly yesterday, that explains it. for pisces vibrates with the frequency of our connection to what lies beyond this mortal coil, to feeling unlimited by the confines of our earthly embodied existence. the catch-22: everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die. can you blame them? but as my lama used to say, & as belinda carlisle sang, “heaven is a place on earth.” pisces invites us to not succumb to the lures of sex-drugs-alcohol to check out but to dive deeper within ourselves to check totally in, be fully, fantastically surrendered to pure presence, to being one with all. if we can’t experience heaven in the here & now, how can we know it even exists? if not now, when?

uttarabhadra is the counterpart to yesterday’s purvabhadra, & brings a message about doing something with that lightning strike of inspiration, says, basically, use it or lose it. if you had an “aha!” moment in purva, uttara will help you grow it, see if it has legs. if not, next time!

it’s the ninth lunar day (tithi), the ninth phase of the waxing moon, which has the potential to be emotionally turbulent, so don’t be surprised if you feel inwardly or outwardly stormy. but by focusing on the internal & refraining from the external, there is the possibility for huge transformation.

wednesday is ruled by mercury, who, as you all know by now, is in retrograde motion. when planets are retrograde (which they actually are a lot), they give us an opportunity to review, rethink & revise (if necessary) the issues they represent. in the case of mercury: discriminating intelligence, technology, communication. so we get to ask ourselves whether we are being truly discriminating, whether the technology in our lives needs upgrading or refurbishing & whether we are communicating clearly enough to feel heard.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
