it’s tuesday, december 29, & moon is in gemini in the starspace called ardra. gemini provides an atmosphere in which we create our individuated identity (i.e., ego) by exploring, by trying new things, trying out new ideas, to see what fits, what resonates, what makes us feel more authentically us. the mind is curious & playful; we are curious & playful. unattached to outcome as we gather new information & new experiences, weigh & measure them.
the asterism ardra is represented by a teardrop & is ruled by rudra, the storm god, the one who showers the earth with nature’s tears, or, hmmm, perhaps they are our communal tears of grief. surely we have all grieved this year, have all had loss of one kind or another, surely more so than in years past. grief is a release of pent-up emotions; it allows us to purge, to cleanse, to make space for renewal, to feel the pain & move on, just as a storm-storm creates destruction & mayhem, or maybe just inconvenience but also the possibility & necessity for restructuring, rebuilding, reimagining.
it’s the day of the full moon, so this energy couldn’t be more heightened. we couldn’t be feeling the need to grieve more. which is awesome, b/c the more we feel pain, the more we can feel joy—they are sort of codependent emotions. the more sadness & sorrow we can release, the more space we create to feel happiness & love. the more we can feel into our own suffering, the more we can relate to the suffering of others & thus be more compassionate & caring. may we all feel truly, madly, deeply at both ends of the spectrum!
tuesday is ruled by mars, who is hanging out in aries, where he feels very much at home, a place where he can take action, which is what mars likes to do. as we end this year (thank gawd!) & begin a new one, this is a good opportunity to use mars’ can-do, will-do spirit to set ourselves up for success in 2021. what does that mean for you?
