it’s thursday, december 2, & moon is in libra, in the starspace called vishakha. in the environment of libra, we are inclined to examine our relationships to make sure they are serving us. with so many planets having moved through libra over the past few months, there has been a lot of emphasis on this aspect of our lives, on reassessing what’s working, what’s not, how we can make what’s not working work or say goodbye & move on if necessary, on deciding who we want to be with & who not.

vishakha brings the lesson that there are always forks in our road, that we are always being asked to make choices, that we always have choices, & that it’s up to us to make them consciously, intentionally. if we are single-pointed in our goals, the choices will seem obvious. if not, we can be led astray, hopefully only temporarily.

it’s the fourteenth lunar day, the fourteenth phase of the waning moon, which invites us to, yeah, say goodbye to the last dregs of what’s not serving us—& yes, fine-tuning our life is kind of our work every day, but preparing for the next lunar cycle provides especial inspiration & support. given that the last lunar cycle started with a new moon in relationship-focused libra, we should be ready to complete that work … at least until the next time around!

thursday is owned by jupiter, who brings teachers & teachings to connect us to the divine, to our highest potential, to the ineffable greatness that provides a sublime container of meaning for our lives. people use different names to relate to this energy, including god, & find different ways to access it. some find it by sitting on their meditation cushion, some find it in nature, artists may find it through their art form. john lurie, of lounge lizards fame, is one such artist. in his memoir, “the history of bones,” which i highly recommend, not only as a romp back through 80’s nyc, but for its insights into the evolutionary process of one human, he writes, “my life goal was to find & express god through my music.” where do you find god, or whatever you call the ineffable, & how do you express it, if you do?

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
