it’s friday, december 3, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called anuradha. scorpio vibrates with the frequency of fear, of our fear that the paranoid emotions & negative beliefs that are arising are for real. i’m gonna tell you on the super secret that they are not! fear cannot live in the present moment—it lives in the past or the future, which do not exist! just saying!
anuradha, means “like” or “after” (anu) radha (krishna’s most devoted devotee) & is ruled by mitra, the divine friend. this asterism brings the lesson of being selflessly devoted to the people in our lives, to serving them with the selfless love of the best friend ever.
it’s the last phase of the waning moon, which means—drum roll, please—we have a new moon overnight. & not only that, but—drum roll, please—a solar eclipse, in scorpio, in the starspace called jyeshtha.
eclipses bring what’s hidden to light. in this case, any toxic fears & traumas we haven’t dealt with & are preventing us from truly, madly, deeply leaning into love—i don’t necessarily mean romantic love, but being in the flow of love in general, trusting love as a path.
“when you get terrified,” like by the negative emotions that can arise under the sway of scorpio, “you’re more likely to feel love,” says dating coach ken page.
we can run, but we can’t hide! eventually we’re going to have to deal with them, so why not now? why not face them once & for all, ask them what lesson they still have to teach us & thus neuter them, take away their power over us, so we can move the “f” on?! i mean, we don’t have forever!
jyeshtha is ruled by indra, who gives us the courage to take responsibility for our un-dealt-with karma … as long as we do so with humility, honor our fears & thank them. after all, they meant well—they were just trying to protect us from, ya know, loving so hard that we might get hurt.
if you’re a scorpio or have planets in scorpio (you know who you are!), you are going to feel this hardest, & so will leos (we know who we are!), b/c leo is ruled by the sun & it is the sun, after all, that is being eclipsed! in any event, everyone being a little more gentle with themselves won’t hurt.
friday is ruled by venus, planet of love. as jack kornfield says, “our time is too precious not to love.” so let’s not waste any more time!
