it’s friday, december 4, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called pushya. cancer invites us to get out of our heads, which is oh so gemini, & into our hearts, to stop analyzing & excel-chart-making & just be in & move from our feeling nature. cancer invites us to be all-loving rather than all-thinking.
the asterism pushya asks us to lean into the pure nurturing energy of the divine mother, the one who gives selflessly, who loves unconditionally. it’s a good day to nourish others, especially those in need, of which there are now more than ever, & to remember that our mothers did the best they could & that we honor them & their effort by doing as well or better. (hey, there is always room for improvement!)
it’s the fifth lunar day, the fifth phase of the waning moon, so it’s also a good day to nourish ourselves, especially if it involves healing modalities, like, um, massage. so how prescient of me to have scheduled one for today a month ago—i swear i didn’t peek at the ephemeris when i did so!
friday is venus’s day. imo, venus, in many ways, exudes pure goddess energy. what does the goddess invite us to express? in the “tripurasundari stotram,” as translated by my sanskrit teacher, marcia solomon, & brought to life by my friend sandi siegel in her book “sanctuary song”:
“she intoxicates the sages, like the spirits distilled from the [kadamba grove’s] red flowers,” “her eyes are bright as a newly opened lotus,” she is garlanded with precious jewels & holds a golden vina, she is playful, “grace flows from her in abundance,” “the moon in the clear night sky is her crown,” she holds a goblet of wine, she is adorned with sandalwood paste & is enchanting & shines like a gem herself.
soooo, how does that evocation resonate with you? what does it inspire? how can you embody goddess energy today? whom can you enchant/intoxicate? how can you feel like a brilliant jewel yourself? (by the way, all proceeds from sandi’s book go to together rising!)
