it’s thursday, december 5, & moon is in the starspace called uttara bhadra, which occupies a sky-slice of pisces. we are now in the realm of the beyond—of being able to glimpse our earthly existence from the vantage point of space, the last frontier, but only in terms of material reality. the last frontier really lies within & pisces invites us to explore it. we just have to make sure that we’re diving deeper into ultimate reality not just escaping relative reality—pisces energy swings both ways.
uttara bhadra is ruled by the deity ahirbudhnya, who is a deep water snake, aka serpent, aka a personification of wisdom, of the untapped wisdom contained within each of us. ahirbudhnya is also the son of vishvakarma, the celestial architect. the blueprints being drawn up now are those for our future lives, which rely on our doing good deeds now, on understanding what really matters & aligning our actions accordingly.

ahirbudhnya lives mostly in the depths but has to come up every now & then for air. this nakshatra reminds us that we are conduits for the truth of existence—which is nothing less than a manifestation of love expanding ever outward. we tap into this knowledge, into source, in meditation, for example, but then open our eyes & share that insight with the world by living it, by being a living example of it, by going through our day asking, “what would love do?”
the ninth phase of the waxing moon becomes the tenth midafternoon, so serpent energy, our efforts to get a handle on our toxic thoughts & use them for transformation, is at play during the first part of the day, while the latter part of the day brings responsibilities associated with doing our dharma, making sure our actions are in right alignment with our soul’s purpose. a potentially intense kind of a day, but …
