it’s friday, december 6, & moon is in the starspace called revati, which is the last sky-slice of pisces & of the natural zodiac, b/c pisces is the last sign. pisces is emotional (it is, after all, a water sign) & ethereal—it invites us to feel rather than think into our spiritual & physical nature. it allows us to “know” without being able to name or label. it allows us to “know” without actually knowing, if that make sense. b/c pisces energy is beyond words. & b/c it doesn’t really matter—not only is life not supposed to make sense, it’s not necessary for it to do so, as a wise friend once said. can you be with that not-knowing? with just being?
revati means “wealthy” or “splendid,” & its presiding deity is pushan, who, like a shepherd, tends to his flock (us) & makes sure they reach their destination, that they make it home. spiritually, we arrive home when we realize the oneness of being, that we & god (however you interpret that word & what it represents) are one. on the human plane, it is said that when two people marry, they become one—ideally it is a divine union.
mini-myth: revati was married to balarama, krishna’s bro’, but they were born in different yugas—she time-travelled to another plane of existence, à la “interstellar,” to find her divine match b/c she couldn’t find anyone suitable where she was living. this way-abridged version of the story echoes the notion of the soul being unsettled, needing a shepherd (in this case it was revati’s mother & brahma) to guide it home (where your beloved always massages your feet, as balarama massages revati’s in the illo!).
it’s a good day to play shepherd to others, massage their feet, to take care of animals or others who are in need of assistance.
it’s the tenth lunar day, the tenth phase of the waxing moon, so we’re taking our responsibilities seriously, aligning with our integrity to make sure our actions meet the criteria of our highest purpose.
friday is ruled by venus, the pleasure-seeking part of us, the part of us that exults in our physical beingness, in taking all the good stuff in through our sense. we may be feeling a little push-me-pull-me by the bling & bubbles right now b/c venus is hanging out with ketu, the south node, who is over & done with material existence, so you may have to summon all your willpower to get yourself out to that party tonight!
& that’s your daily bliss! jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light of your life, contact me for a session! ~.~
