it’s wednesday, december 8, & moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called shravana until midmorning, then in dhanishtha. in the environment of earthy capricorn, we are inclined to get serious, practical about our lives, our immediate lives. capricorn comes after sagittarius, where we find hope & inspiration, which can be amorphous, ethereal. in capricorn we bring that hope & inspiration down to earth through consistency & commitment. capricorn is where we put our big girl panties (or big boy briefs) on & do the freakin’ work to make our dreams come true.

shravana (see yesterday’s post for more) and dhanishtha, which is sometimes called shravishtha, are connected through the idea that everything in the universe is vibration, that the universe came into being through sound & that we continue to create our world every day through how we sound. shravana brings the lesson that if we listen deeply to the primordial sound within, which is source, wisdom will be revealed. dhanishtha brings the lesson that, just as vibration/sound manifests into different forms depending on its frequency, we can manifest whatever we desire if we honor the eight vasus—the elemental gods that represent phenomena of nature & the cosmos: apas (water), dhruva (the polestar), soma (the moon), dhara (the earth), anila (the wind), anala (fire), pratyusha (pre-dawn), prabhas (sky/ether). the reminder is that we are of nature, not separate from her, that if we work with her rather than against her, are aligned with her, she’ll have our back.

it’s the fifth lunar day, the fifth phase of the waxing moon, which brings the goddess energy of the moon & supports us in healing routines & being creative. personally, i always find creativity to be healing, but naps & massages & baths work too! what works for you? how can you nurture yourself today, give yourself some moon love?

wednesday is ruled by mercury, who gives us curiosity & the ability to communicate. if we aren’t curious, we won’t investigate, try new things, explore different paradigms, desire to know what we don’t know, & then we won’t have anything to talk about, communicate to others. curiosity keeps us alive & evolving. be curious. be very, very curious.

“lack of curiosity kills the human.”—john lurie

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
