Delusion Is a Kind of Prison

it’s tuesday, june 9, moon is in pisces, in the starspace called uttarabhādra, it’s the ninth phase of the waning moon & mars’ day.

 

focus of attention

pisces vibrates with the frequency of otherworldliness, of what lies beyond this mortal coil—beyond our material, embodied, personal existence. in the piscean environment we can experience being one with all that is, swim in the sea of universal consciousness, b/c we don’t contain consciousness—it contains us. whaaaat?!

“a human being is a part of the whole, called by us ‘universe,’ ” said einstein, who, with a pileup of planets in pisces, knew a thing or two about universal consciousness. “he experiences himself, his thoughts & his feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical illusion of his consciousness. this delusion is a kind of prison for us.”

our conscious minds delude/trick us into seeing disconnectedness where there is only unity.

mental/emotional direction

uttarabādhra is ruled by ahir budhnya, a gentle serpent of the depths, of our depths, our subconsciousness, & thus connects us to our hidden potential, as in kundalini shakti (which lies coiled, serpentlike, at the base of our spine), our innate ability to wake up, experience unity consciousness, become undeluded. while ahir budhnya’s abode was the ocean depths, he also flew high in the sky, binding the rain clouds, which is why the superpower of this nakshatra is to bring the rain. rain = growth, nourishment, forward progress (as in plants growing thanks to the rain).

this nakshatra is also related to ananta shesha, the thousand-headed serpent vishnu rested on during his yogic snooze. vishnu, like the rain, sustains life, gives it continuity.

if you got a divine download yesterday in pūrvabhādra, your invitation in uttarabhādra is to sustain it, grow it, ground it in reality, rain some love on it.

the ninth lunar day (tithi), the ninth phase of the waning moon, also has a serpentlike quality, as it is ruled by the nagas, those sneaky-snaky-sagacious beings who slither into the nooks & crannies of our psyche to shine a light on what’s hidden—our deepest, darkest secrets, our traumas, our shame (eeegads!). if we can look at them, own them, we can transform them into wisdom—light vanquishes shadow.

this tithi is one of those (like the fourth & fourteenth) that can make us feel unsupported emotionally, unsettled, at sea on a raft all by ourselves, so it’s best to turn inward, not outward, to commune with ourself rather than others.

 

quality of energy

tuesday is mars’ day, which means being spiritual warriors, action heroes, protecting underdogs & fighting the good fight, as in duking it out with our own demons (shadow, negativity, limiting beliefs), lest we project our nonsense onto others, turn them into demons, enemies. ugh!
