it’s friday, january 9, & moon is in virgo, in the starspace called hastā. virgo vibrates with the frequency of preventing disaster, getting ahead of it, being proactive, getting all our ducks in order so we’re not felled by illness or our roof caving in, so we’re prepared for the whims of nature.
if you notice a suspicious spot on your face, you head to the dermo to get it checked out (& frozen, if necessary) before it becomes cancerous. if you live, as i do, in a dry & currently way too warm county where fires have been known to be sparked by downed power lines (don’t get me started!) & electricity gets shut off to avoid them, you stock up on nontoxic candles from goodlight (battery-operated ones use toxic LED bulbs), buy a generator, make an evacuation plan & list, declutter so you can find the items you will want to save in case of.
what mini or major disaster can you get ahead of, so you can feel a sense of relief?
hastā means “hand” & is ruled by savitur, whose name means “the impeller” &/or “the first rays of the sun.” if we can see our fingers as rays of the sun & our palm as the sun itself, we can see ourselves as vehicles, conduits, for the divine, that we are not the doers but the messengers, that what we create with our hands (metaphorically or not) is an offering, is offered with open hands.
it’s the seventh lunar day (tithi), the seventh phase of the waning moon, which is connected to indra, god of gods, who was famously felled by pride. this tithi gives us confidence & control over our mind & reminds us of our duties & responsibilities, keeps us on track, keeps us humble.
friday is ruled by venus, who gives us the ability to experience the juiciness of our earthly existence—love & beauty in its myriad forms—& to create harmony, to foster diplomacy. well, venus is currently combust the sun (as is mars), being singed by sun’s rays, invisible to us. on the upside that means the venusian areas of our life have a chance to be upleveled, purified. on the downside it means it’s harder for us to access the best & brightest venus has to offer, that we’ll have to work harder to create harmony, feel love/loving, to IN-joy. can you rise to the challenge?
but/& hastā + the seventh tithi + friday = a combo that yields nectar—disaster relief from the cosmos!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
