what to know so you can align with today’s energy from a vedic (not western/tropical) astrology point of view: it’s friday, july 31, moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called śatabhiṣak, it’s the second phase of the waning moon until late morning MDT, then the third, & it’s venus’ day.
aquarius …
… vibrates with the frequency of humanity—our personal humanity & humanity as a whole. it’s where we own our responsibility as citizens of the world, as pieces in the global puzzle, & want to do our part to make the world the world we want to see.
“can you do everything you can within whatever your incarnation is to keep [the world] beautiful, make it more compassionate, more loving, more harmonious, more politically conscious & at the same moment not be attached to the outcome?”
that was ram dass back in the 80s, when nuclear war & other threats to civilization seemed real, when, he suggested, things might get “messy.”
imo, things seem pretty darn messy right now, perhaps messier than ram dass could have imagined, & so it is more important than ever that each of us keeps doing our part, doing something.
what does the world you want to see look like?
what are you doing to complete that picture, fulfill that vision?
can you keep doing it regardless of the outcome?
śatabhiṣak …
… means one hundred physicians/healers/medcines & is ruled by varuna, guardian of cosmic law, universal wisdom. he is depicted holding a pot of soma, the nectar that gave the gods immortality. that nectar is, you might say, truth serum, for it revealed the truth of reality to them & woke them up from the dream, from the illusion.
this star reminds us that our deepest wounds can be healed only with the medicine of wisdom, knowledge, truth.
the second lunar day, …
… the second phase (tithi) of the waning moon, gives us the pride in our intention to let it grow & prosper, the third to nourish it in a way that sustains it. if the second tithi is the spark, the third is the fire that doesn’t go out (but is contained, doesn’t burn thousands of acres). the third tithi is also the best for taking care of home & family, to nourish that which nourishes us, to keep the home fire burning.
venus …
… is, like jupiter, a teacher, a guru, but venus teaches through our worldly, our earthly experiences, so friday is the day we go to venus school, receive lessons through our earthly existence, through our senses, through doing what we love with the ones we love, including ourself.
