it’s sunday, september 7, the official start of the aquarius-leo eclipse cycle, with a full moon/lunar eclipse in aquarius, in the starspace called pūrvabhādra. eclipses come in pairs—a lunar (today’s) followed by a solar (on september 21)—& this month pitru paksha, the sacred fortnight dedicated to our ancestors, is snugged between them, turning the volume for potential realignment/breakthroughs/transformation up to an 11.

eclipses occur when the earth’s path around the sun & the moon’s around the earth intersect. those points are where the nodes of the moon, rahu (the north node), ketu (the south), come out to play—to reveal what’s hidden, make the invisible visible. that can be emotionally intense. we can get triggered as our skeletons come out of the closet, unresolved karmic issues emerge from the shadows.

hint: if you’re still thinking about “it,” that karma is still alive for you. sorry!

just as eclipses come in pairs, so do new & full moons. this lunar cycle started two weeks ago with the new moon in leo, sign of the king. today’s full moon, in aquarius, the sign of the collective, invites us to push onward with the work we started then—we’ve reached the halfway point. then was about how we own & stand in our own power; now is about being one among the masses.

the full moon is an opportunity to course-correct, to balance our sovereignty with our responsibility as citizens, as shared users of resources, as part of the giant organism known as humanity.

are you using resources responsibly? are you using your power in service of humanity, to move it forward, or do you expect someone else to do it? are you contributing in a positive way to the world around you?

fyi: we are the ones we’ve been waiting for!

pūrvabhādra is the star of spiritual fire, bringing the power to raise a spiritual person up in life. that means you/us, b/c we are all spiritual beings having a human experience. this asterism is associated with lightning, with the funeral pyre, cremation grounds, with setting our soul free from the confines of our physical existence.

what “aha!” moment might come, what truth might be revealed like a flash of lightning, what unconscious pattern or behavior might be made conscious? what can you release, burn to ashes?

pūrvabhādra is ruled by aja ekapad, a rudra, a form of shiva that helps dissolve illusion. in the D20 chart of spiritual progress, sun & moon dwell in the portion ruled by raudri, goddess of anger, impatience, frustration, rage, aggression. let it come if it comes: process it, release it, don’t try to suppress it.

a lunar eclipse means rahu is hanging out with the moon, ketu with the sun. rahu is material ambition, ketu spiritual transcendence. again, we are spiritual beings having an earthly, material experience: how does your material life support you spiritually? how does your spirituality inform/enhance your material existence?

ok, that’s a lot! but there’s still a bit more!

pitru paksha is an opportunity to honor our ancestors (our pitris), remember them, heal any lineage trauma, resolve & integrate the past. ways you might do that:
• create an altar with photos or mementos of loved ones. (an altar doesn’t have to be a big deal; it can be a photo/keepsake with a candle or a small vase with flowers.)
• make offerings or donations in their names.
• journal about/meditate on them: what insights/memories might arise?
• ask those who are living to tell you stories about those who have passed (before all the story-holders are gone too).

remember that they all did the best they could do, that you are here b/c of them, that forgiveness is healing, that when you do your own healing work, you help to heal your lineage.

the eclipse occurs at 21° aquarius—if you’ve got planets within a degree or two of that, you are bound to be more affected, so do be more vigilant.

have you been feeling psychically or physically exhausted (or is it just me?!)? it may be b/c you’ve been unconsciously hiding or hiding from some truth that will ultimately set you free. are you ready to be free?

one mo’ thing: jupiter is shining his wisdom & positivity on this full moon, telling us that we’ve got this, giving us the grace with which to do it.

lastly, the eclipse is a time for reflection, to pause before acting, to rest up. it’s def not a time to start new projects or make major life decisions. it’s a portal, a sacred threshold, an opportunity for accelerated growth/transformation/realignment.

what can you learn from the past so you don’t have to repeat it? how can you recalibrate your present to create the future you want to see?

seize the moment! break on through to the other side of you!

sending love & blessings!
❤️🙏🌕✨

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
