full moon in scorpio, in the starspace called anurādhā, in the wee hours this morning, was the second full moon of the month (i.e., it’s blue but not sad!) & was accompanied by a gorgeous jupiter-mercury-venus conjunction in gemini & a powerful gaze from mars. not to mention all this happened in the thirteenth lunar month, an extra month that brings extra blessings.

what’s it all mean?

scorpio vibrates with the frequency of our emotional depths & thus our emotional vulnerability. moon is debilitated in scorpio’s dark, churning waters, meaning it’s out of its depths, feels lost at sea, tossed hither & yon by waves that seem to arise threateningly out of nowhere.

scorpio is deep, private, sensitive, like the scorpion who hides in holes & caves, feels protected in the places where light doesn’t reach. think the nooks & crannies of your psyche, where traumas, wounds, shadow dwell.

scorpio is where we feel emotionally chaotic, out of control. the key is to surrender to what arises & to ask what’s true & what’s not, whether your fears or your heart is talking.

anurādhā is ruled by mitra, the divine friend, & invites us to take the divine friendship between krishna & radha, her utter devotion & loyalty to him, as our model & to ask ourselves to what &/or to whom we are utterly devoted & whether it or they are worthy of our devotion.

anurādhā means “like radha,” so we might ask, “what would radha do?”

mars, who rules scorpio, is powerful now in aries, which is six houses away from scorpio & from which he casts an eighth house aspect/gaze/drishti on the full moon. the sixth house is where we get to courageously overcome challenges & bad habits, heal mental/emotional/physical traumas/diseases. the eighth house is where we feel out of control, where we experience the most uncertainty, but/& it also gives us the greatest opportunities for transformation … if we can stop thinking we can control everything & “just” trust.

the jupiter-venus-mercury party in gemini (which ends tomorrow!) supports all of us in getting our creative & higher learning acts together (according to the area of life that gemini represents) & is especially beneficial for gemini, virgo, sagittarius & pisces by rising sign or moon as it produces what’s called a saraswati yoga.

the extra vedic month is called purushottam mas & is added every two & a half to three years to align lunar & solar calendars (kinda like the gregorian leap year) & is considered a most-potent time (the blessings continue until june 15!) for doing our inner work, to dive into our innermost sanctum to extract truth & then live it, embody it.

“whatever little a mortal performs during the month of purushottama—be it japa, charity, or ritual acts—all of that becomes entirely imperishable (akshaya) in its spiritual reward.”—padma purana

padma means “lotus” & anurādhā is represented by a lotus. a lotus rises & blooms out of the mud, not despite it. it is nourished by, thrives b/c of, the muck, just as we are nourished, bloom & grow from our muck, by transforming our shadow & trauma & fear into the ethereal & ecstatic blossom we are meant to be.

what are you avoiding? what might be possible if you gave up your need to control, to know & be held in the mystery, swim in uncertainty?

vulnerability is the key to true intimacy: how aren’t you being honest with yourself, or someone else?

what do you get to get out your flashlight & shine a light on?

what are you holding that’s too heavy to hold, that’s no longer yours to hold? what wants closure, healing?

“in the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.”—sun tzu, the art of war

the daily bliss is 100% human generated! the act of creation is intrinsic to being human—when we give up our agency to create, we cease, little by little, to be fully human.

wishing you a blessed full moon of unfoldment, of blossoming, of ecstatic self-creation!
