it’s thursday, september 18, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called aśleṣā. cancer vibrates with the frequency of the divine feminine, of the unconditionally maternal, the urge to love on, care for, nourish everyone, bring everyone into the fold. it is a water sign ruled by watery moon. water is connected to our emotions, moon to our emotional mind, our intuition, our feeling mind. & moon is the most changeable planet, moving quickly through signs, through phases. which means that our thoughts & feelings are constantly in flux & we can easily mistake a transient urge/desire/thought/feeling for our deepest truths. it’s also easy, b/c moon wants everyone to be happy & maternal energy can be all-giving, for us (regardless of gender or gender identity) to forget about our own needs.
it’s important to remember to keep our own cup full, our own tank topped off, lest we run out of gas & can’t budge, have no more love left to give.
cancer is represented by a crab, which has a hard carapace. for a reason. which doesn’t mean we have to be hard-hearted, just that we do get to protect our tender, vulnerable hearts, beware overgiving, without being crabby about it.
aśleṣā, speaking of our deepest feelings, our deepest truths, is ruled by the nagas, divine serpents that zap untruths with their poison & also extract wisdom from poison. by slithering into the deepest nooks & crannies of our psyche, where our shadow lives, where we prefer to keep the hidden hidden the nagas connect us to our superpower of intuition & to that which we can’t ignore—or, rather, we can ignore only at the risk of our own evolution, our own wisdom. what truth is waiting for you to discover?
it’s the twelfth lunar day (tithi), the twelfth phase of the waning moon, until about noon MDT, then the thirteenth. the twelfth tithi is said to be one of the most conflict-free & pleasant lunar days, the thirteenth to remove all shortcomings & increase all auspiciousness (good juju). yay! the twelfth is ruled by mercury, who organizes our mind & helps us speak clearly; the thirteenth by jupiter, who deepens our connection to our inner guru, our intuition, heart-knowing.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, whose sanskrit name is guru, which can be a person but is also the principle that anyone & anything (everyone! everything!) presents an opportunity for us to learn & grow. what opportunities might present themselves to you today?
