it’s tuesday, august 5, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called mūla. sagittarius vibrates with the frequency of our beliefs, which are related to faith, neither of which necessarily involves facts, both of which need to be tested in the crucible of life. unlike the vulnerability of scorpio, which is irrational, the vulnerability of sag comes when we rationally, logically question our beliefs, are able to entertain doubt about them, a process that strengthens them … unless it doesn’t, unless it reveals their deficiency.
“the opposite of faith is not doubt,” said anne lamott, “but certainty. certainty is missing the point entirely. faith includes noticing the mess, the emptiness & discomfort, & letting it be there until some light returns. faith also means reaching deeply within, for the sense one was born with.”
how do your beliefs serve you? do they create a container for the life you want to lead? are you willing to question them, put them to the test?
mūla means “root” & isn’t defined spatially by a bright star or stars like other constellations but by the supermassive black hole at its core around which our solar system rotates & is the root of the milky way galaxy. it gives us the power to uproot, unroot, unearth what we might be unaware of, what lives in the black hole of our unconsciousness, & is ruled by niritti, fierce goddess of chaos, who reminds us that the process of transformation is messy. our invitation is to look deeply into our past, into our behavioral tendencies, into our beliefs, to do the deep dive rather than settle for surface-level answers.
what isn’t working? what do you get to uproot to make space for something else? are you willing to make a mess?
it’s the twelfth lunar day (tithi), the twelfth phase of the waxing moon, which is considered the most conflict-free tithi & blesses us with the results of our prayers … if we prayed sincerely & intentionally yesterday. prayer comes in many forms & so do results—sometimes, if we’re not receptive enough, haven’t adequately prepared ourselves, we can miss them. whoops!
tuesday is ruled by mars, who is now in virgo giving us the firepower to focus on the details of our life, make to-do lists & check things off. am i the only one feeling it?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
