what to know so you can align with today’s energy from a vedic (not western/tropical) astrology point of view: it’s thursday, september 3, moon is in taurus, in the starspace called kṛttikā until midday, then rohiṇī, it’s the seventh phase of the waning moon & jupiter’s day.
taurus …
… vibrates with the frequency of what we value & how we feel valued. as the second house of the natural zodiac it concerns the nourishment we received in early life from our family & how that informed our values.
dolly parton (yes, one more reference to that meta-magnificent little girl from up in east tennessee, as johnny cash referred to her upon her first appearance, at age 13, at the grand ole opry) grew up in the kind of poverty most of us can’t comprehend but “in a place where people knew how to care for one another b/c there wasn’t much to go around,” someone on substack recently shared. “she used those values to imagine a version of success that was generous, collaborative, & loving,” of caring for & always loving your neighbors.
how did your early family life inform your values?
kṛttikā …
… gives us clarity. it helps us cut through the mental noise so we can see the truth, & then it helps us surgically sever what isn’t true, isn’t true for us.
rohiṇī …
… is the star of fertility, gives us the desire & ability to grow, create, expand. the key is to tap into our superpower of creativity, of manifestation, without an ulterior, self-serving, ego-expanding motive but out of generosity, as a way to share our gifts with the world.
the seventh lunar day (tithi), …
… the seventh phase of the waning moon, is, like taurus, connected to our indriyas, our senses, through which we receive nourishment from what we read, eat, listen to, etc. the world is filled with stimuli, isn’t it? this tithi helps us choose wisely, gives our mind control over our senses, lest they lead us astray.
thursday …
… is ruled by jupiter, who brings the grace of the guru.
“my basic method is … grace of the guru. … he keeps coming to me as people. i think i am meeting you, but i don’t realize that you are maharaji in drag—coming to test me about my practice. my practice is a weave of life.”—ram dass
guru can be a person but it is also the principle that grace, that wisdom, the opportunity to grow, to evolve, comes in many forms—as people, as events, as life situations, as hardships, as joys.
it shows up every day—all we have to do is notice & receive.
can you see the guru in the cashier at whole foods, in the guy who cut you off in traffic, in the argument you had with your daughter, in … ?
🌗
the daily bliss is 100% human generated! the act of creation is intrinsic to being human—when we give up our agency to create, we cease, little by little, to be fully human.
may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little (or a lot!) more bliss in your life.
