it’s monday, february 14, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called pushya. cancer vibrates with the frequency of unconditional, unbounded love. in the atmosphere of cancer, we are not stingy with our love, we know that our well of love is endless, that the more love we give, the more there will be to give, that it is ever-replenishing. we’re not talking romantic love, venusian love, in which we expect, & deserve, something in return. this is selfless love, pure love. & what better day to spread the love around than valentine’s day?! how much love can you shower on the world around you, regardless of whether you get flowers or a box of chocolates? pure love is not about that. can you dare to be love today?
pushya is the asterism of nourishment. need i say more? ok, i will. pushya’s symbol is the teats of a cow, which is how she nourishes her young. the vedic literature likes to talk about how generous cows are, that they produce so much milk that there’s plenty for their baby & plenty for us. what? why would an animal produce extra? that’s just crazy! do female humans produce extra—enough to feed their baby &, say, the neighbor’s? i don’t think so! so let’s just talk about that special bond between mother & baby, about how a mother gives of herself to nourish that new life, & ask ourselves what we are nourishing & how, whether we are nourishing that thing—person, project, relationship—we want to see grow & thrive.
