it’s tuesday, february 15, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called ashlesha. cancer vibrates with the frequency of the divine feminine, of the universal mother, of the maternal energy that heals & harmonizes, nourishes & sustains. think the fierce, indomitable love of durga, the great protectress of life. we are seeing the rise of the divine feminine all over the world now, of love overcoming fear, of people of all stripes coming together rather than continuing to be pulled apart by the selfish forces of patriarchal systems fighting to maintain control by trying to divide & conquer. the patriarchy is no match for the divine feminine. it is a beautiful thing to see!
ashlesha means “coiling,” “clinging,” “embracing,” or “entwining” & is charged with serpent energy. we, too, are charged with serpent energy, in the form of our reptilian brain, which is where our fight-flight-freeze response lives. we need to respond without thinking in life-threatening situations, but we don’t want to unconsciously respond as if our life is being threatened all day long; we want to be consciously in control. this part of the brain can be compulsive & aggressive, it gets angry easily, & can prevent us from doing what we really want, b/c it perceives danger everywhere. ashlesha brings the lesson that insight is gained when we pause before we react instinctively, for serpent energy is associated with great wisdom—if we can look at our shadow, we diffuse its power over us. what negative ideas or emotions or people are you clinging to out of fear? what power do they hold over you? can you stare them down & set yourself free?
it’s the fourteenth lunar day, the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon, which means we’ve got a full moon tomorrow, & you are probably feeling the fullness somehow, some way, depending on which house the full moon will be in your chart. if you know which house leo is for you, you’re ahead of the game!
tuesday is ruled by mars, who brings his special sauce of warriorship to the day. we are ultimately the ones we need to conquer, our own most potent foes. what interior serpents, or dragons, their close cousins, can you slay today?
