it’s friday, february 18, & moon moves from leo into virgo midmorning while being supported & transported by the starspace called uttaraphalguni. whereas leo vibrates with the big-picture frequency of our sovereignty, virgo vibrates with the small-picture frequency of the details that give us the freedom to be sovereign. if leo is the actor strutting their stuff bigly on the stage of life, virgo is all the supporting players—the stagehand & understudy & theater manager & promoter. with moon moving into virgo & hanging out there for the weekend, we’ll be wanting to make to-do lists & check everything off, we’ll be wanting to tidy up our lives, get into the nooks & crannies & piles that have been piling up.
uttaraphalguni, like purvaphalguni (see yesterday’s post), is represented by two legs of a bed, but the back legs, & it is likewise not a bed for sleeping but of conjugal, marital, bliss. (feel free to sleep all you want after you get your conjugal bliss on, tho!) ruled by aryaman, the deity of contracts, this asterism brings the lesson that when we make agreements based on mutual satisfaction, founded in love, they are bound to bear juicy fruit (phala). it’s a good day to examine the agreements you have made with others or are about to make with others & ask yourself if the best interests of both people are being served or are going to be served. if not, you get to rewrite the agreements before you sign on the dotted line & make them official!
it’s the second lunar day, the second phase of the waning moon, which is connected to krishna/vishnu in the form of narayana. vishnu/narayana is the sustainer of the universe & krishna is the all-attractive one, the one who draws all to him in devotion. how can you create something that brings sustenance to your life through your devotion to god, by allowing the divine to flow through you?
friday is ruled by venus, planet of earthly delights, especially love, b/c love is, after all, what makes the world go round, what keeps it vibrating at its highest frequency. if we can keep our vibration high, we increase the world’s vibration. so, as thich nhat hanh said, “do not be afraid to love. without love, life is impossible.”
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
