it’s thursday, february 24, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called jyeshtha. in the environment of scorpio, anxiety may rise to the surface. for me, “may” can be replaced by “absolutely does!!!” i know when moon is in scorpio & those random crazy thoughts/feelings arise, that’s why. that awareness is the beam of light that gets me through. anxiety lives in the place where god is missing. god = goodness overcoming darkness. fear & anxiety arise when we hew toward the darkness rather than the light. god always wins. the light always triumphs. if you are prone to succumb to scorpio’s darkness, see if you can find a point of light to focus on, let that light in to illuminate the darkness.
jyeshtha, which means “eldest,” is symbolized by a round talisman or ring or earring & also by an umbrella, all of which are associated with protection, the protection that comes from the governing forces of the universe, from a benevolent authority figure. this asterism brings the lesson that when we are in positions of authority, as an eldest child often is, we must take our responsibility seriously, with the best interests of those who look up to us, who are dependent on us, always foremost in our thoughts, words & actions. may we be like umbrellas for them!
it’s the ninth lunar day, the ninth phase of the waning moon, which brings serpent energy. in the vedic world, serpents are symbols of wisdom—they are able to transform venom/toxins into enlightening insights. they’re sort of the embodiment of homeopathy, in which a tiny bit of poison becomes the cure. it’s a good day to slither into the nooks & crannies & hidey-holes of our psyches & out whatever is poisoning our lives, that makes us feel contracted rather than expansive, whether people or ideas or beliefs or emotions.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, who is the part of us that believes. everyone believes in something, but let’s hope none of us believes blindly, in whatever or whomever we believe. as albert einstein said, “blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of the truth.” i was taught to speak truth to power by my yoga teachers. we should never be afraid to question … anyone or anything. in fact, we should always question, make sure what & whom we believe in continues to align with who we are.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
