it’s tuesday, february 27, & moon is in virgo, in the starspace called hasta. mercury-ruled virgo creates an environment in which we get out our spread sheets & pay attention to the details of life maintenance so that we can keep living our lives, so that the roof doesn’t collapse on us. it’s where we use discriminating intelligence to assess financial, eating, spiritual & exercising habits & make adjustments if we’ve fallen off the wagon or aren’t getting the results we want. it’s where we make house repairs & doctors’ appointments, take our car in for an oil change, get our hair cut, recommit to meditation. it may not be fun or sexy (except to virgos), but it does take a load off so we can have fun & feel sexy—especially if, say, a pedicure is part of our life maintenance.
hasta is ruled by savitur, aka the sun. as with all planetary energy, as above, so below. savitur’s mantra is the gayatri, with which we invoke the divine solar energy within us, the energy that awakens & enlivens us, the inner light of inspiration & vision, creativity & healing. this asterism reminds us that, as swami vivekananda said, “all the powers in the universe are already ours. it is we who put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark.” it’s a good day to tap into your powers of creativity & healing, to use your hastas (hands) metaphorically or practically, to trust, rather than doubt, your inner light. chanting the gayatri or practicing surya namaskar (sun salutations) sure ain’t gonna hurt!
“don’t think about making art, just get it done. let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. while they are deciding, make even more art.”—andy warhol
it’s the third lunar day (tithi), the third phase of the waning moon, until early afternoon, then the fourth. since the third tithi is all about being flexible & thinking outside the box, that should come in handy later in the day when the fourth supports us in overcoming obstacles by bringing them.
tuesday is ruled by mars, whose key word is “courage.” “you will never do anything in this world without courage,” said aristotle. “it is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor.” what do you want to accomplish today? do you have the courage to do it?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
