it’s thursday, february 2, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called ardra. in vedic astrology gemini’s symbol is a male-female couple (think energy, not gender), not the twins of tropical astrology—this gives gemini a wholistic perspective, allows us, under its sway, to be open to all possibilities. the body parts associated with gemini are the neck, arms & hands, so we can turn our head in all directions (& remember, we’ve got two heads cause we’re a couple!), which again facilitates more access to more perspectives & invites us to explore, have new experiences, test ourselves, by reaching out with our arms & hands. & gemini is very social & communicative, so these experiences are apt to include others, either in the doing or in the sharing of what we’ve learned. this is how we gain more truth about who we are. what new something is calling to you today & what new insights will it give you about you?
ardra is ruled by rudra, the stormiest aspect of shiva, the great change agent, destroyer of what is so that something better can come. most people aren’t good with change b/c it involves the unknown & the unknown is, well, unknowable! most people like knowing what’s coming, so they can prepare. well, we can forget about that when shiva’s in the house! ardra reminds us that our internal storms are cleansings, clearings. so go ahead & cry if you want to today, let it all out, scream into a pillow if necessary, mourn your loss.
it’s the thirteenth lunar day, the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in delighting in life & the ones we love—yesssss, even when we’re having a sad! maybe especially when we’re having a sad, b/c it reminds us that there would be no joy if we didn’t know sorrow.
thursday is infused with the spirit of jupiter, who is our connection to the divine, the part of us that zooms out & up & sees the bigger picture, allows us to gain some perspective on the smaller picture vision of our life, knows that the universe, the divine, god, the ineffable has our back, has a plan for our unfurlment that’s beyond our grasping. sooooo, if what’s ahead scares you & what’s behind hurts you, just look up!
