it’s wednesday, february 7, & moon is in sagittarius for one more day, in the starspace called purvashadha, which means we get one more day to feel into the superpower of ruling planet jupiter’s inspiration. it’s a good day to soak it up like a sponge, let it infiltrate every cell of our being. i mean, what would we do, how would we be, if we weren’t inspired? probs just lumps on the couch after a day of doing soul-numbing work, right?

purvashadha is ruled by apas, a mysterious water goddess who nourishes the seeds of inspiration that we plant. this asterism brings a lesson about that seed inside of us that is dying to be born, sprouted, that dream we dream of manifesting & that would make us feel incomplete if left undone. what is that thing inside that rubs you stubbornly like a grain of sand in an oyster dreaming of being a pearl?

“magic happens when a subborn soul refuses to give up her dreams.”—avijeet das

purvashadha means “former victory.” it gives us the ability to realize our dreams as long as we make some effort. it’s a good day for cleansing/purification rituals that involve water, so good thing i’m heading to the hot springs later today to soak soak soak!

it’s the thirteenth lunar day (tithi), the thirteenth phase of the waning moon, which is said to remove all shortcomings & increase auspiciousness, to bring victory (which see above!). who doesn’t want that? we just get to ask whether we’re really ready or not, whether we’ve done enough purification, b/c sometimes we think we’re ready & we’re not, & if we’re not, well, that doesn’t usually turn out so well. we get to ask whether we sometimes act too impulsively & whether we are always able to learn from our mistakes, b/c mistakes will happen.

wednesday is ruled by mercury, planet of discriminating intelligence & communication, the former essential for the latter. what my teacher sharon gannon has said about teachers & communication applies to all of us, for we all teach with our words & behavior: “a good teacher is a communicator, not a professor. a good teacher must be a good listener & for this to happen the teacher must be humble, must not arrogantly think that they can help others, they must serve others, not be self-serving.”

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
