it’s monday, february 7, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called bharani. aries vibrates with the frequency of beginning again, of boldly going where we haven’t gone before, starting something new. in the environment of aries, we can tap into our courage & willpower & determination to make “it” happen, whatever “it” might be. if you’ve been sitting on an idea, it’s time to confront whatever has been preventing you from making it a reality, & make it happen, whether it’s a new job, a new project, or a new way of being.
bharani brings the lesson of truth & consequences, of confronting the truth of what we have created & dealing with the consequences. everything we do has a consequence, even, & maybe especially, what we don’t do. as the bhagavad gita teaches, there is action in inaction (IV:18). it’s a good day to ponder the consequences of what we have & have not done.
it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which is related to lord indra, the king of the gods. there’s a great story about indra, who, after he defeated the demon vritra, thought he was all that & had a magnificent palace built for himself. but, long story short, vishnu put him in his place, pointed out that his palace was overrun with ants, & that each ant had been an indra in the past (“indra” just means “lord”; it’s generic, not specific), which humbled indra. our challenge is always to be all that we can be but to do so with humility, to understand that, yes, we are special, but so is everyone else!
monday is ruled by the moon, which is our feeling nature. ultimately moon wants to feel good, which means feeling connected to others, but to get there, to experience that, we get to feel all of our feels—the good, the bad & the ugly, but without judgment. being able to feel & identify what we’re feeing is huge; the more we can feel one emotion, the more we can feel its opposite. the nature of feeling is expansion, deepening our ability to connect.
can you allow yourself to courageously feel whatever feeling arises, &, as jack kornfield says, “let it move on, unafraid of the movement of life”?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
