it’s thursday, february 9, & moon is in virgo, moving from the starspace called uttaraphalguni into hasta midmorning. virgo vibrates with the frequency of perfectionism. on the upside it inspires us to improve our lives. on the downside it can make us feel that we’ve never done enough, that we’re never enough or good enough. it can make us feel inadequate no matter what, that we’re too flawed, need more fixing than is possible, will always be broken toys. perfectionism is the ego’s attempt to keep us stuck, keep us small. why would it do that? b/c it’s afraid that if we let ourselves shine, be big, our light will kill it. which is highly unlikely … until—if—we become enlightened. meanwhile, we are all works in progress; being perfect is an illusion. we get to embrace the perfection of our imperfection.

hasta (see yesterday’s post for uttaraphalguni) is ruled by savitur, the creative, inspirational & transformative form of the sun & the deity invoked in the gayatri mantra, which invites us to embody the light of the divine, allow it to infuse us with inspiration. this asterism gives us the ability, if we focus on the highest, if we let the divine flow through us, to achieve our goals, especially if they involve creativity &/or healing. if you’re not feeling it, try chanting the gayatri!

it’s the fourth lunar day, the fourth phase of the waning moon, which can bring obstacles & also supports us in overcoming those obstacles. a friend recently posted about welcoming obstacles in his life, b/c obstacles are opportunities, if we embrace rather than resist them, to supercharge our transformation, our evolution. seeing challenges as gifts is a kind of shift in perception. today is a good day to practice shifting your perspective, seeing obstacles that come your way as opportunities, welcoming them. try it & let me know how that goes!

thursday is owned by jupiter, planet of faith, wisdom & expansion. jupiter’s sanskrit name is “guru,” which means great teacher, the one who is the conduit for wisdom, which expands our concept of reality & gives us faith that we are just where we need to be on our journey through life. “experience is the teacher of all things,” said julius caesar. what have you learned lately just by being you, doing you?

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
