it’s friday, february 9, & moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called shravana until midmorning, then in dhanishta, where we have the new moon midafternoon. capricorn vibrates with the frequency of getting real, of, as byron katie has famously said, “loving what is.” but that doesn’t mean what is has to be what is forever, for capricorn’s ruler, saturn, reminds us that the clock is ticking & if we want to create a different reality, now’s the time. capricorn is where we do “the work,” where we take practical action steps, where we move that project off the back burner onto the front.
shravana invites us to get quiet enough so we can get past our thinking mind & hear the music, the wisdom, of our innermost voice. “we are here to find that dimension within ourselves that is deeper than thought,” eckhart tolle says. dhanishta invites us to align with the rhythm of that music, fearlessly dance to its beat, solo on the dance floor of our life.
speaking of fearless, warrior mars is hanging out in capricorn, which is his happy place, where he is exalted, where he acts with max IQ. so he is adding even more courage into the mix. he’s saying, “fear not!” as you know, warriors experience fear just like the rest of us. but they are able to transcend their fear, use it to spur them to act courageously. how might fear be holding you back? how can you transcend it?
mercury is also hanging out in cap & is going to be combust soon, so be, um, mindful, about not overthinking, overanalyzing, which usually prevents us from taking action.
putting this all together: our work for the new lunar cycle entails being pragmatic, staying grounded & focused on doing. wishing won’t make it so. prayer is useless without action. as neem karoli baba said, “action is prayer” & as the ancient greek motto went, “the gods help those who help themselves.” in this case the gods are the vasus, the elemental principles of manifestation, who rule dhanishta & support us in creating our reality … as long as we make effort, do our work.
the new moon is the union of the divine masculine (sun) & divine feminine (moon). masc & fem coming together produces new life. what do you want to create? what is your intention for this cycle?
