it’s monday, april 20, moon is in taurus, in the starspace called rohiṇī, it’s the fourth phase of the waxing moon & moon’s day.

taurus is moon’s happy place, comfort zone, & with taurus’ ruling planet, venus, now moved in for the next few weeks, our happiness & comfort will get a huge boost. i don’t know about you, but just the thought of that makes me happy, a feeling that can be hard to come by in these despairing times.

we still do have a far-too-cozy trio (saturn & mercury on top of each other, mars within a degree of them) in pisces, so it won’t be all smooth sailing, but/& sun is also in exaltation (in his happy place, in aries) for the next three weeks & he will help keep our course steady.

taurus is opposite scorpio, our discomfort zone, & we are usually, to some extent or another, tacking from one to another. taurus time is a good time to feel into, take stock of, everything & everyone who makes us feel loved & safe & fill our cup with it, store it for our journey onward … for when we find ourselves in choppy water.

rohiṇī is ruled by prajapati & its superpower is the ability to grow all things, just as, from his own body, prajapati created the whole universe, grew it into existence. that’s some creative power, no? earthy, fixed rohiṇī dwells right smack dab in the heart of earthy, fixed taurus. which can help us ground our creative efforts, stabilize them so we can manifest, but can also make us stubborn & greedy, too attached to our efforts, can inspire jealousy in others (“look at what i’ve done! aren’t i great?!”).

how can you thread the needle between loving & feeling confident about what you are producing without feeling like you’re “all that”?

the fourth lunar day (tithi), the fourth phase of the waxing moon, is ruled by yama, the lord of death—i.e., endings—& has a quality of contentment. what do death & contentment have to do with each other? well, what gets to die/end is our attachment to how things are & being able to control how things are. there are always going to be bumps in the road, we are always going to have obstacles to overcome, & if we can accept them rather than rail against them, we will be able to cultivate contentment.

contentment doesn’t mean bypassing! this tithi supports us in doing our inner work (yeah, i know, it never ends!).

monday invites us to surf moon’s heart-centered energy, the energy of compassion & connection, of being in our joy & bringing joy to others, which just might come from being our most joyful selves.

bonus track: rohiṇī + the fourth tithi + moon’s day create not one, but two auspicious yogas—one that brings full (not partial!) success to whatever we initiate today, the other brings blessings of prosperity, of health & happiness.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
