it’s tuesday, november 18, & moon is in libra, in the starspace called swatī. each sign is associated with a particular class: fire signs with warriors, water signs with priests/teachers/mentors/counselors, earth signs with worker bees, air signs with merchants. libra is an air sign, which points to the transactional nature of our relationships. except for the love between a parent & child, which is, at least ideally, unconditional, our relationships with all other people have conditions, are based on an equal exchange of giving & receiving, of not “overpaying”: i give you this, you give me that & we’re both happy.

relationships don’t come with a warrantee like products. there’s no a guarantee that if you give you’ll get, or that giving more will get you more, will “fix” the other person so they’ll love you the way you want them to, the way you deserve. sometimes libra has to tip the scales in order to recalibrate them, find true harmony, balance in relationship.

libra time is always time to recalibrate our relationship scales, make sure we are getting as good as we’re getting, not overgiving to get—&, of course, are giving as good as we’re getting.

swatī is ruled by vayu, god of the winds, & it is, not surprisingly, airy as well: fast, free, always in motion, restless. swatī’s planetary ruler is rahu, who brings a sense of adventure but also multitasking or multicuriousity sometimes to the point of distraction. vayu was hanuman’s dad. it was only by harnessing his inner winds, his prana, his precious faculties of attention & intention that he was able to—somehow! who knew monkeys could fly?!—fly like the wind over the ocean to rescue rama’s beloved sita from the demon ravana. it’s a good day to do pranayama so you can focus like you mean it.

it’s the fourteenth lunar day (tithi), the fourteenth phase of the waning moon, which supports transformation & purification, sacrificing what doesn’t serve us. it is considered the birth tithi of the moon, sometimes called soma, the nectar of immortality, which was produced through an intense pressing process to extract its essence. this tithi is ruled by kali, who takes no prisoners, is fierce AF. if you’re not sure what needs to go, ask yourself, “what would kali do?” squeeze hard!

tuesday is hanuman’s day (!) & is ruled by mars, our inner (& outer) action hero. now in his home sign of scorpio, mars is giving us the courage to dive deep into our inner world, overcome our fears & negativity.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
