it’s wednesday, september 10, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called aśvinī. aries is the first sign of the natural zodiac; it’s where we begin the cycle of life, where we burst out of the insular dark of our incubation vessel into the bright vastness of the world, take our first breath; where we begin to differentiate ourselves as a unique, separate human being, no longer attached to (once our umbilical cord is cut), part of, another.
aries is ruled by mars, planet of courage, & it is where sun, planet of confidence, is exalted (operates with utmost intelligence & power), both of which we need to be our most authentic selves, to rise again (& again!) when we fall down, when we don’t meet our mark, when our project gets sidelined, when our business fails, or fails to take.
the japanese proverb “fall down seven times, get up eight” reminds us what true courage is, what true confidence is, true belief in ourself.
what would you do, what project would you start, if you weren’t afraid to fail?
aśvinī brings the ability to reach goals quickly, & to heal quickly, as this asterism is related to both horsepower & ayurveda. it is also related to prana (which is also related to horses), our precious life force. it is by focusing our intention & attention that we can charge full speed ahead & get where we mean to go. otherwise, who knows where we’ll end up!
it’s the fourth lunar day (tithi), the fourth phase of the waning moon, the birth tithi of lord ganesh, he of the big head, who reminds us that all the obstacles we perceive as being “out there” really exist only “in here,” in our big heads, in our minds. it’s a good day to turn inward, examine all the ways we might be our biggest obstacles, be manufacturing them; to look at the parts of ourselves we prefer not to.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who uses words thoughtfully & well in order to communicate truthfully & clearly.
“morality & grammar are related. human beings live by the word. socrates said, ‘the misuse of language induces evil in the soul.’ … lying is the deliberate misuse of language. but language misused through ‘mere’ ignorance or carelessness breeds half-truths, misunderstandings, & lies. in that sense grammar & morality are related. in that sense [it is our] moral duty … to use language thoughtfully & well.”—ursula k. le guin
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
