it’s friday, january 2, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called ārdrā, where moon will be full as full in the wee hours overnight. full moon in airy gemini means sun is opposite in fiery sagittarius. moon is also being aspected by (gazed at by) a stellium (cluster of planets; in this case mars, venus & mercury) in sagittarius. not only that, but moon is cozying up to retrograde jupiter & will be kissing close tomorrow. so let’s unpack all that!
mercury-ruled gemini vibrates with the frequency of curiosity & discriminating intelligence, being able to parse the deets; jupiter-ruled sagittarius with big picture hopefulness based on the beliefs that create a container for our lives, give it meaning. what are your beliefs & do the facts support them, or is your faith as shortsighted as a mole?
ārdrā is ruled by rudra, a stormy aspect of stormy shiva, lord of chaos, transformation. rudra wields lightning & brings inner storms that wake us up. he also wakes up the wild, untamed parts of us, the parts we can’t control, reminds us that chaos & overwhelm are teachers—they take us to our edge & it is at our edge that our evolution is accelerated. for when we can’t take anymore, we have no choice but to process our stuff & this is when we get clarity on what truly matters, on what needs to go so we can prioritize what gets to stay.
jupiter is the guru, the one who removes darkness, ignorance, illusion & thus gives us perspective, helps us see the bigger picture, how the universe has our back, that all is unfolding for our benefit, remember that the sun always comes out after a storm.
sun is combusting/inflaming mars & venus, so annoyance & frustration may be on high; you may feel like an oyster being irritated into producing a pearl. this, too, is a growth opportunity, the pearl of you the outcome. sun is a purifying force. what can you learn about your discipline, or lack of it? what’s your relationship to money & love? do those areas of your life need upleveling?
if your nervous system is feeling inflamed, ask yourself what would calm it, tame it. sometimes one small practice can make a huge difference.
“one small gesture a day—almost embarrassingly small—can begin to shift the inner furniture.”—suleika jouad
on the flip side, why not embrace your wildness—dance & sing in the storm! get wet! release the desire to control!
are you ready to ch-ch-change, transform? as david bowie sang, time may change us, but we can’t trace time, can’t reverse the flow of time, can’t control the direction of our soul evolution.
whatever house gemini represents for you is where your moon work is for the waning cycle. where is the chaos in your life? how are you feeling overwhelmed? what excess, what distractions, do you get to let go of so you can prioritize what is essential? can you face the strain, hold space for it, embrace it?
wishing you a most-transformative full moon!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
