it’s monday, january 19, & moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called śravaṇa. capricorn vibrates with the frequency of our duties & responsibilities, &, as i shared in yesterday’s bonus new moon post (a bonus b/c i don’t usually post on sundays & stay off social media), there is a whole lotta planetary energy (mars, mercury & venus) in capricorn right now, so it’s almost impossible not to pay attention to what we are committed to—partly, halfway, all the way or not at all.
stern saturn’s rulership of this zodiac sign encourages us to prioritize & keep our nose to the grindstone. he’s the master of time & helps us master our time. he reminds us that time waits for no one, that there’s no better time than the present. saturn invites us to get real.

śravaṇa, the star of deep listening, is, like monday, ruled by the moon, &, like the moon, invites/supports/desire connection. hearing is passive, listening active. this nakshatra brings a lesson about being active, intentional listeners, about shutting up & paying thoughtful, focused attention to people when they talk & the gift of connection that results when we do.
ultimately, getting quiet & listening deeply allows us to connect to our innermost, innermost, innermost voice, to the divine itself. to tune our inner ears, we start by tuning our outer ears.
it’s the first lunar day (tithi), the first phase of the waxing moon, until early afternoon, then the second, when there is not yet visible light being emitted by the moon & so our new moon intentions are still perhaps not completely detectable either, we might still be feeling into them.
monday is ruled by moon, planet of connection & unconditional love, who teaches us that when our hearts are open, connection happens.
