it’s tuesday, april 14, moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called pūrvabhādra, it’s the twelfth phase of the waning moon until midday, then the thirteenth, & mars’ day.
aquarius, the sign of service, is opposite leo, the sign of leadership. threading the needle of this axis, of these opposites, involves standing in our power without standing in our ego, understanding, as the exquisite thinker kathryn schulz put it in her memoir, lost & found, that the thing that can sustain us is serving others, b/c “there’s no community on earth that does not need your help.”
pūrvabhādra means “first auspicious step” & its superpower is the ability elevate us spiritually, to give us a step up from the realm of worldly consciousness into divine consciousness. this can be a lightning-bolt-like experience, as this energy is intense, unpredictable, impulsive like its ruling deity, aja ekapada. beware your own impulsivity, keep the rubber side down, pay attention so you don’t miss an “aha!”
the twelfth lunar day (tithi) is ruled by goddess vijaya, “the victorious one,” & supports us in our pursuit of abundance, of wealth, whatever that means for us. what makes you feel wealthy—knowledge, friends, a beautiful home, fame, being able to meditate for hours on end?
the thirteenth tithi is ruled by sarvamangala devi, “the all-auspicious one,” & supports us by removing all shortcomings & increasing all juiciness.
the twelfth tithi is one of the most pleasant & conflict lunar days, the thirteenth helps us trust our inner GPS, gives us clarity, can intensify or speed up our spiritual work, which can be pleasant, especially if we like surprises.
tuesday invites us into the energy of mars, our warrior spirit, our inner action hero, who is now in pisces & sidling up to saturn. mars wants to put his pedal to the metal, go fast as a race car at the indy 500; saturn says “hold your horses,” slams the brakes on. it’s kind of a “push me, pull me” sitch, which can make us feel like we’re not making any progress & watery pisces time for fiery mars can make us feel as if our fire is being put out. it’s not, not really. the message here is, go slow to go fast (as my pilates teacher likes to say).
bonus track: speaking of going slow to go fast, sun enters aries (his sign of exaltation—yay! especially for us leos!) today. sun is our soul(ar) battery & when he moves from one sign to another it can feel like our own battery is in the red. so take that into account & cut yourself some slack, lower your expectations, delete something from your agenda or take a “beach day” if you can.
also: sun’s transit into aries marks the beginning of a new solar year, so, yessss, another new year, another opportunity to take stock & set intentions!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
