it’s thursday, november 13, & moon is in leo, in the starspace called pūrvaphālgunī. leo invites us to stand right under the spotlight center stage & let ourselves be fully seen, roar like a lion; leo wants respect. it is the realm of royalty & leadership & is opposite aquarius, which represents the masses, over whom kings, politicians, gurus hold sway, lead. the bhagavad-gita teaches that the most evolved expression of leadership is to lead by example, not by strong-arming, not through iron-fisted control.
paramahansa yogananda perhaps represents the highest, the most evolved expression of leo energy. his self-realization fellowship was an embodiment of the path he embodied, a monument to leadership by example.
not to get too (!!!) political, but it bears mentioning that our current president is a leo—as, full disclosure, am i—so you can see how far the leo pendulum swings from the sublime to the ridiculous, from the magnanimous to the egocentric, the selfless to the selfish/self-centered, from being in service to the masses to trying to wrest control over them.
pūrvaphālgunī is ruled by bhaga, the solar deity of happiness, of delight, & brings a lesson about the importance of taking a timeout to IN-joy our life, the importance of rest to rejuvenate, that the antidote to working hard is playing hard, that daydreaming, being in a state of revery, is essential to our creative process, our ability to produce.
one clover, and a bee,
and revery.
the revery alone will do,
if bees are few.

it’s the ninth lunar day (tithi), the ninth phase of the waning moon, until late morning, then the tenth. so we may be wresting with the inner demons (limiting beliefs, negative tendencies) that are preventing us from living our dharma (def a leo theme) & then actually living it, standing in it, owning it, realigning with our purpose.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, aka the guru, who is (along with mercury & saturn) now in retrograde motion. jupiter is our sense of luck, of abundance, of support from the universe. it is our moral compass & represents teachers, mentors & male partners. who or what might be returning for the purpose of karmic cleansing, giving you an opportunity to realign, course-correct?
with mercury, saturn & jupiter in water signs—jupiter in cancer, mercury in scorpio, saturn in pisces—the realm of moksha/liberation, this is a powerful time for our spiritual evolution.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
