it’s friday, august 15, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called bharaṇī. aries invites us to plant our flag, stake our claim to new territory, to be our most authentic & unique selves. putting something out into the world, allowing ourselves to be fully seen is risky, is vulnerable, takes nerve.

“to be vulnerable is to allow yourself to be seen, & sometimes it is so difficult—downright mortifying, even—to be perceived, isn’t it? it’s safer to sit quietly on the sidelines rather than play. it’s safer to make nothing, to put nothing into the world, because then it can’t be critiqued or judged, & there won’t be mistakes for others to witness. if you don’t try, you can’t fail. but how unfulfilling is that?!”—maggie smith

bharaṇī comes from the verb that means “to bear,” as in bearing children & bearing the consequences of our actions, like taking responsibility for raising those children, feeding & educating & loving on them. also letting them go when it’s time, also making amends for our actions if need be, as this asterism is ruled by yama, the god of dharma (right action) & the god of death. he sees us through life transitions, the ending of one phase or situation & the beginning of another, creation & destruction.

what do you get to create? what do you get to release? is an apology in order?

it’s the seventh lunar day (tithi), the seventh phase of the waning moon, until just after noon MDT, then the eighth. which means that, like the eighth tithi, which is half dark & half light, our day is also half & half. the seventh tithi gives us self-control & might bring lessons if we lapse, including lessons of humility if we get too full of ourselves, think we’ve got everything under control. the eighth reminds us of the dueling forces within us, which we get to accept & embrace, harmonize & which might surface as inner conflict until they are.

the seventh tithi + friday + bharaṇī creates siddha yoga, a combo that supports accomplishment; the eighth + friday, not so much, as we can feel depleted. so make hay this morning if you can, dive inward this afternoon.

friday is ruled by venus, planet of love & beauty, who is hanging out with jupiter, in gemini, & being inspired to love bigly, to create & IN-joy the pleasures of being earthly beings bigly, to enthusiastically use our venusian gifts.

“love is more than a feeling; it’s a practice that needs attention, care & skill.”—yung pueblo

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
