it’s monday, april 6, moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called anurādhā, it’s the fifth phase of the waning moon & moon’s day.

scorpio is where moon is debilitated, meaning our emotional-mental body is most at sea, least able to get a foothold, b/c scorpio represents the deep, dark, choppy waters of our psyche, where all our fears & doubts, insecurities & paranoias—wearing swim fins & wet suits & scuba tanks—frolic, are in their element.

breaking news: we’ve all got shadow, parts of us that make us uncomfortable, that we’re ashamed of, that sometimes bring us to our knees.

henry fonda threw up before every (every!) broadway stage performance b/c of severe stage fright—even at age 75, even after a lifetime of performing—but he still walked on stage, performed, showed up, despite his fear.

& guess what? once he walked on stage, his stage fright disappeared.

mars’ rulership of scorpio helps us face our fears, & when we do, we take away their power & we, too, can perform, show up courageously on the stage of life.

anurādhā is ruled by mitra, the divine friend, & its superpower is the power of devotion, intense loyalty—to someone (like krishna for radha) or something. this star gives wholeheartedly, with her whole beingness, there’s no going back once she gives her heart, & that doesn’t always work out so well, can entail being taken advantage of, taken for granted, intense hurt.

for anurādhā, devotion isn’t optional, but it does want us to make sure that whatever/whomever we give ourselves to is worthy.

“what we can control is what it’s like to have a life that’s dedicated to something. … what we can control i think is where we lay our devotion.”—pádraig ó tuama

the fifth lunar day (tithi), the fifth phase of the waning moon, is ruled by goddess vahnivasini, whose name means “the one dwelling in fire,” who is burning with creativity, with passion, with luminous radiance, with insight. this tithi supports us in seeing our goal, getting clarity around it & focussing with laser intensity on it, like lakshmi, who, when she emerged from the milk ocean, walked right up to vishnu & put a garland of flowers around his neck, claimed him, knew he was the one.

what are you going to put a garland around today?

monday invites us to swim in the energy of kind, compassionate, all-inclusive moon, which, yes, could be a bit of a challenge with moon swimming in the dark, chopping waters of scorpio. all the more reason to work our kindness, our compassion, our inclusivity, to embrace all, to welcome all that comes (the fear & the joy, for example)—in others as well as in ourselves.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
