what to know so you can align with today’s energy from a vedic (not western/tropical) astrology point of view: it’s thursday, july 16, moon will be in leo at 8:20 a.m. MDT, in the starspace called maghā, it’s the third phase of the waxing moon & jupiter’s day.
where your attention is being drawn
leo is the sign of the king, of the divine masculine, of dharmic leadership, dharmic power. which means being in selfless service to the people, to the greater good, not your own aggrandizement, not your own (or your family’s) enrichment, not being beholden to corporate interests b/c they financed your election campaign & continue to whisper into your ear, reminding you of your debt to them, of your promises. what about the promises you made to the people?
how are you representing, standing in your power?
FYI: leo’s ruler, sun, is changing signs, moving from gemini into cancer midday. the sun is our soul(ar) battery & he has to unplug until he gets resettled, makes himself at home in his new home, which takes time. so it’s a good idea to cut ourselves some slack, lower expectations, take a “beach day” if we can, b/c it’ll feel like our soul(ar) battery is in the red.
how to direct your mental/emotional energy
maghā is ruled by the pitris, our ancestors—yes, our biological ones, the ones who passed their genes down to us, but/& also anyone who bushwhacked our trail, gave us a map or a compass, gave us clues to the treasure. this nakshatra brings a lesson about honoring our ancestors by not letting their efforts go to waste, by remembering that our duty is to carry their DNA, actual or metaphorical, forward to the next generation, to make more of the trail walkable.
what supports you emotionally
the third lunar day (tithi), the third phase of the waxing moon, is said to be the best to tend to, to nourish, to sustain, home & family. & we know (don’t we?!) that family dynamics, people interacting, can bring friction. so prepare to make effort to create harmony, to bring a forgiving heart to interactions.
how to align with the weekday’s energy
thursday is ruled by jupiter, whose sanskrit name is guru, the one who graces us with supreme, incorruptible wisdom, with spiritual insights & sound judgment. but/& while guru can be a person, a holy teacher, a mentor, it is also a principle—the concept that anyone & anything (that chance encounter, for example) can be a teaching, a learning, an insight-bringing moment, an opportunity to evolve.
if we pay attention, we won’t miss the moment.
where today’s headwind is coming from
ok, this is my newest, favoritist, funnest aspect of jyotish (vedic astrology), &, like all things jyotish, it is very personal to your specific chart, so it may resonate, may not. but … if you feel like you are facing a headwind, are feeling physically or emotionally or otherwise obstructed/challenged today, try facing north or northwest & you just might catch a tailwind.
what’s the best that could happen?
🌒
the daily bliss is 100% human generated! the act of creation is intrinsic to being human—when we give up our agency to create, we cease, little by little, to be fully human.
may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little (or a lot!) more bliss in your life.
