it’s tuesday, may 5, moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called mūla, it’s the fourth phase of the waning moon & mars’ day.
sagittarius is ruled by wise & bodacious jupiter, who helps us recover from our emotional deep diving in scorpio, helps us integrate scorpio’s lessons by zooming us out so we can take in the big picture, get some perspective, see that all is unfolding perfectly, trust that the universe/god/the divine has our back, & access greater truths.
“any clear conception of subtle ultimate truths is almost impossible without proper faith,” wrote swami sivananda. “faith is power, strength & abundant energy. men with no assets but tremendous faith in themselves have accomplished wonders. he who has faith is strong, he who doubts is weak. strong faith precedes great actions, while doubt cramps energy.”

mūla invites us to uproot (mūla = “root”) beliefs that no longer serve, that no longer resonate, to get rid of the unreal & superficial in our lives so there is space for what’s real, for truth with a capital T. sitting with that empty space where beliefs & untruths have lived, being able to welcome the unknown, surrender into not knowing what’s next isn’t for the fainthearted. thank goodness for faith, & for ruling goddess niritti, who likes to get her hands dirty, takes no prisoners, couldn’t be less sentimental about the past, about what we might be clinging to, invites vulnerability.

the fourth lunar day (tithi), the fourth phase of the waning moon, is ruled by yama, god of death/endings (not unlike those brought by mūla & niritti), & brings a quality of contentment. whaaat? this tithi supports us in being content with what is, regardless of whether the universe gives us pleasant experiences or not-so-pleasant ones, gives us what we want or not.
this tithi can bring, as do the ninth & fourteenth, a feeling of being unsupported emotionally, so beware that, don’t get sucked into the trough of despond, resource from within rather than seek it from others &/or other external stimulation. these three tithis are best for our innermost work, for our spiritual evolution.
are you willing to get your hands dirty? feel vulnerable? uproot untruths?
tuesday is ruled by mars, the strategist, the general of the army, who likes to get into his body & make things happen, so tuesday is a good day to make things happen … as long as we have a plan, a strategy, as long as we don’t let mars’ eagerness & propensity for impulsivity prevail.
