it’s monday, december 16, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called ardra until midday mountain time, then punarvasu. gemini vibrates with the frequency of mental stimulation & curiosity. it’s where, like a ball in a pinball machine, we bounce new intellectual & physical areas to adventure off ourselves in an effort to more fully define ourselves, to expand our sense of self. it’s where we test our skills, sometimes in competition, to discover what we’re good at, what gifts or excitements, previously hidden, might prove valuable, or just a whole lotta fun—&, yes, fun in & of itself does have a whole lotta value.
ardra is the star of transformation, churning inner & outer chaos into mighty storms. punarvasu is the star of renewal, reminding us that the sun always comes out after a storm, that we’ve done this before & we can do it again. ardra is ruled by rudra, whose name actually means “the howler.” one way to get through an emotional hurricane (& the only way through is through) is to scream our way through, release anger-hurt-frustration with our voice—hey, no one can hear you above the thunder & lightning! aditi means “unbounded,” as in infinite, & reminds us of the infinite possibilities life presents, of the universe’s infinite support. while ardra invites us to destroy, wash away like a storm, what doesn’t serve our highest interest, punarvasu invites us to feel hopeful again. the key is to not be overly destructive or overly optimistic, to remain focused on our goal.
it’s the second lunar day (tithi), the second phase of the waning moon, all day, giving us the confidence to take the spark of our full moon inspiration & grow it, fan its flames so its light can be seen far & wide. this tithi resonates well with monday, & supports us with both our destruction process this morning & accomplishments this afternoon. what are you kindling within?
monday is ruled by the moon, who is our feeling nature, who gives us intuition, our ability to know by using our heart not our brain. gotta say that while gemini is ruled by thinky mercury, since both monday & the second tithi are ruled by the moon, our heart just might have an advantage today. what’s it gonna be–head or heart? maybe both/&?
