it’s tuesday, september 9, & moon is in pisces, in the starspace called revatī. pisces, as i mentioned yesterday, is where we get to, or hope to, or are enticed to experience the oneness of being, unity consciousness, of pure spirit, unencumbered by physical reality. which involves total surrender, which means a totally shedding, death, of ego, identity. which is no small task!
my teacher sam geppi likes to say, “everyone wants to be enlightened, but nobody wants to die,” a variation of “everyone wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die.”
the desire for the experience of, let’s call it, heaven can invite short cuts, from, say drugs or alcohol, which can create an alt-reality, the illusion of not-me-ness. but there are no short cuts & heaven is not out there.
if you think heaven is a place where the streets are paved with lapis lazuli, you’re going to be sorely disappointed, my lama used to say, reminding us that heaven, the possibility of heaven, of enlightenment, is in the here & now.
the key to pisces is checking deeper in, not checking totally out, to remember that “heaven is a place on earth.”
revatī is the last asterism of the last sign of the natural zodiac & is ruled by pushan, the cosmic shepherd, who protects & guides the herd to new pastures, keeps them nourished, brings them home. he ultimately protects the soul as it completes its journey on earth, makes sure it makes the transition sweetly & smoothly.
revatī can mean “wealthy” or “to transcend,” gives prosperity & completion, the one coming from the other, for don’t you feel abundant when you bring a journey or project to completion?
what gets to be completed? whom can you nourish/guide on their journey? how can you receive nourishment/guidance?
it’s the third lunar day (tithi), the third phase of the waning moon, which has the quality of nourishment (!) & creates siddha yoga (a combo for accomplishment) when it falls on tuesday, b/c it vibes with mars. it’s a good day to turn our maternal, nourishing energy to home & family, which takes effort, requires literal or metaphorical sweat, so good thing mars is in the mix.
tuesday is ruled by fiery mars, who is gazing directly at the moon today. are you going to let him make you hotheaded or inspire you to positive, productive action?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
