it’s friday, april 17, moon is in aries, in the starspace called aśvinī, it’s the first phase of the waxing moon & venus’ day.
aries is all forward motion all the time, impels us to get a move on, says, “do it now!” mars, who rules aries, gives us the courage to boldly go where we’ve never gone before, to boldly show up in a way we’ve never shown up before, more authentically “me” than we have been. aries time is no time to be a shrinking violet!
aśvinī is ruled by the aśvin kumara, twin horse gods who were also divine healers. its energy is swift, dynamic, airy, like that of a stallion (friesian or otherwise) running wild & free. horses are related to our senses & to prana: the more we can control our prana, our vital life forces, the more control we have over our senses, the less chance our desires will lead us astray & the better chance we will have of achieving our goals, finding quick solutions, healing any divide within.
the first lunar day (tithi), the first phase of the waxing moon, is ruled by brahma, the creator of all that is, & has a quality of amrita (nectar). with friday (venus’ day) it creates a siddha yoga, a combo for accomplishment, & aśvinī in the mix makes that combo even more auspicious. this tithi is also associated with fire & with both sun & moon in aśvinī, we may feel the flames to create, to manifest licking at us, impelling us full-steam ahead.
friday invites us to tap into venus energy, which pretty much means indulging (in a good way!) in our human experience, experiencing life through our senses, & through being in relationship with others, b/c, after all, the human experience is an interactive one—we know ourselves & experience ourselves in relation to others, by sharing our loves & likes, by sharing ourselves, with others.
bonus track: sunday is akshaya tritiya, the most auspicious day of the vedic year, when both luminaries, sun & moon, are exalted, in their happiest places. it’s a day of infinite blessings, when nothing can go wrong, everything right as right—when every prayer, every act of devotion, any project started or item purchased or donation made will yield abundance forever more—the more you give, the more generous you are, the more you’ll receive in return.
