it’s tuesday, january 11, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called bharani. in the environment of aries, we want to be me, express our individuality, be authentically & unabashedly who we are. when brené brown talks about vulnerability, she calls this “the excruciating act of allowing ourselves to be truly known.” but for aries, there is nothing excruciating about the act of self-revelation, it does not feel vulnerable, it comes naturally. aries is fearless. how can you be fearlessly authentic today?
bharani is derived from the sanskrit verbal root भृ (bhri), which means “to bear” & relates to the creative process, the process of birthing something. the ultimate act of creation is producing a child, & that act, like any act, has repercussions—once a child is birthed, they’ve got to be fed & rocked to sleep & put through college, for starters. sometimes we can foresee the consequences of our actions, sometimes not. sometimes they are welcome, sometimes not. bharani brings the lesson that, if we’re not thrilled with the outcome of an action, we get to ask ourselves if we can see the “failure” as an opportunity for growth.
it’s the tenth lunar day, the tenth phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in aligning with our personal dharma, our purpose for having incarnated in this body in this time. although it would be awesome if everyone were, say, gandhi, we don’t all have gandhi’s karma for dharma, but we all have a calling, whether it’s to be a nurse or an artist or a community organizer or the nicest freaking person anyone has ever met. what do you feel called to do, to be? are you aligned with your true north?
“tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”—mary oliver
tuesday is ruled by mars, who also rules aries. mars is our inner action hero. so today is a double-good day to initiate, take action, do, produce, make an impact. our actions are the measurement of who we are. so today is also a double-good day to take stock of our actions, ask ourselves whether our actions are better aligning us with our mission, ask ourselves how we are measuring up.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
