it’s thursday, january 12, & moon is moving from leo into virgo this morning while being supported & transported by the starspace called uttaraphalguni. whereas leo vibrates with the frequency of sitting on the throne, taking center stage, virgo vibrates with the frequency of the scrubbing & dusting & cooking & gardening & accounting that goes on backstage, behind the scenes, that supports the reign. most of us don’t have vast staffs like monarchs do to take care of the nitty-gritty details of our lives—it’s on us. it’s time to, um, clean up our royal acts! which life chores are calling for your attention? which ones have you let slide? taking care of them isn’t really fun or sexy (except to virgos!), but doing so allows our lives to flow more smoothly so we can get on with the fun & sex.
uttaraphalguni means, literally, “the after [uttara] fruits [phalguni]” & is ruled by aryaman, friendly god of contracts, god of friendly contracts. this asterism reminds us that when we make agreements, draw up contracts, whether for marriage or business, that are based on what is mutually loving for both/all parties, success is inevitable. if we can’t negotiate or renegotiate our agreements to make them so, maybe it’s time to rip them up?
it’s the sixth lunar day, the sixth phase of the waning moon, which is said to bestow happiness & invites us to celebrate our victories. certainly, reminding ourselves of all the positive action steps we’ve taken, of our victories big & small, is one way to feel happy, positive, hopeful.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, planet of hope & faith, guidance & wisdom. if you’re not feeling it, you can thank the stern gaze saturn has been giving jupiter, who has been hanging out in his home sign of pisces, where he should be feeling his oats & passing that goodness on to us. &, as if that’s not enough, mercury has been in retrograde motion in sagittarius, jupiter’s other sign, having us reflect on, & maybe obsess over, what/who gives us faith, hope, guidance. so we’ve had saturn’s constriction & retro mercury’s mental preoccupations in the mix. this too will pass! meanwhile, we get to work a little harder to make sure we are relying on the right sources for inspiration, trusting the right people, dig a little deeper to commune with the hope that always perches in our soul.
