it’s wednesday, january 17, & moon is in pisces, in the starspace called revati. pisces vibrates with the frequency of our inner space journey, our connection to all that is. it’s where we want the experience of what lies beyond this mortal coil without actually giving up our mortality. as my teacher sam geppi has said, “everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die.” there are many ways to get a taste of alternative states of reality, from meditation to sex to alcohol to plant medicine. the question is whether we’re using them to check out or to check in, whether they are taking us into deeper & higher states of consciousness or just making us unconscious.
“we have forgotten that our inner space journey is more important than our outer space journey.”—shri brahmananda sarasvati
revati means “wealthy” & is ruled by pushan, the lord of cattle & of paths. who herds animals toward new pastures, ones abundant with fresh edibles, which allows them to feel wealthy in their bodies. this asterism is the last one in the last sign of the natural zodiac & brings a message about our final journey—this time around the zodiac or this time around as embodied beings. it reminds us that our path is always being lighted, that we are always being guided home. ram dass has famously said that we are all just walking each other home, we are each of us one another’s guides. how does being a guide or being guided show up in your life?
it’s the seventh lunar day (tithi), the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which is ruled by the goddess shivaduti, whose name means “messenger of shiva.” shiva gives us control over our mind & shivaduti over our unconscious, mechanical thoughts & behaviors, the ones that create our reality & determine our fate. “until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life & you will call it fate,” said carl jung. it’s a good day to take control of our mind & thus our fate!
wednesday is ruled by communicative mercury. communication involves at least as much listening as talking.
“it takes two years to learn to speak & sixty to learn to keep quiet.”—ernest hemingway
how’s your listening going?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
