it’s friday, january 19, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called bharani. aries vibrates with the frequency of our individual authenticity, of owning & exerting our personal power for our personal fulfillment. aries’ mantra is “go big or go home!” which has its upsides: like, if everyone played small, there would be no innovation, no progress, no art & music & literature, no scientific discoveries, but, um, also, probs no wars! its downsides: aries is symbolized by a ram, & rams tend to just put their heads down &, well, ram their way forward, often wreaking destruction as they go, as happens in, um, war. so we to be all we can be, as powerful as we can be, without stomping on other people & things & countries in the process. & b/c it’s friday, venus’ day, we get to remember, as jimi hendrix said, that “when the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”
bharani is ruled by yama, the god of death/restrictions, death being the final restriction, right? this asterism brings a lesson about taking responsibility for the consequences of our actions, like, um, not looking where we’re going!
it’s the ninth lunar day (tithi), the ninth phase of the waxing moon, which is ruled by the goddess kulasundari, whose name means “the most beautiful in her abode,” & it is considered the birth tithi of venus—how’s that for synchronicity? it’s a good day to appreciate & make more beautiful our abode, our home, including the people with whom we share it.
friday is ruled by venus, planet of love, who has just moved, but just, into sagittarius. two things to note: venus does not exactly feel welcome here (sag’s ruler, jupiter, & venus are not friends) & venus is in what we call the gandanta zone, a place where karmic knots get revealed & hopefully untied. so on the one hand, we’re just going to have to work our love muscle harder—we can think of sag as applying more resistance, pulling back as we try to push forward. on the other hand, it’s a great time to let go of the ghosts of exes or clear up issues in current romantic relationships. & don’t forget that friday is a day for sensual pleasures of all kinds—eat good food, dance, make art & love, gaze at the stars!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
