it’s thursday, january 27, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called anuradha. scorpio vibrates with the frequency of our shadow, of our most irrational fears & paranoid tendencies. after the sociability of libra, of exulting in relationship, in the environment of scorpio we worry that we may have revealed too much of ourselves, or revealed it to the wrong person, & we feel emotionally vulnerable. but vulnerability is our growth edge. scorpio invites us to face our emotional fears rather than run away from them. in the words of dating guru ken page, “when you get terrified, you’re more likely to feel love.”
anuradha (full disclosure: this is one of my favorite nakshatras, maybe b/c i have three planets here, maybe b/c i just love krishna & radha so much!) is ruled by mitra, the divine friend, & brings the lesson that we should be like radha: “anu” implies “to follow in the footsteps of.” radha was krishna’s most devoted friend. yes, friend—they were not married. in fact, they were married to other people! radha’s devotion to krishna, her desire for him, was the desire of the individual soul (radha) to merge with god (krishna). who or what are you devoted to & is that bringing you closer to god? how can you be a truly divine friend, show selfless, unlimited love, to the people in your life?
it’s the tenth lunar day, the tenth phase of the waning moon, which supports us in doing our dharma, living our truth, which, yes, means being in integrity. “integrity” comes from the latin “integer,” which means “untouched, entire,” so being in integrity means being the purest expression of ourselves, being fully who we are meant to be. how’s that going?
thursday is ruled by jupiter, aka the guru, who gives us the teachings that give us the beliefs that create a container for our lives, give our life meaning. thursday is always a good day to honor our teachers. it’s also a good day to assess the teachings we’ve received, what we believe, see if the evidence of our lives continues to support what we believe, if what we believe has been observed & measured & can be independently/unbiasedly confirmed.
