it’s monday, january 2, & moon will be in taurus by the time you read this, in the starspace called krittika. belated happy second new year! yes, the first, cosmic, new year occurred on the new moon right after winter solstice. that means we’ve had two chances to get ourselves pointed in the right direction for 2023. did you make resolutions? set intentions? osho comes down hard on resolutions, saying:
“this and only this can be the new year’s resolution: i resolve never to make any resolutions because all resolutions are restrictions for the future. all resolutions are imprisonments. you decide today for tomorrow? you have destroyed tomorrow. allow the tomorrow to have its own being. let it come in its own way! let it bring its own gifts.”
well, yes, & … not to quibble with the master, but that seems to require being fully aligned with our dharma in every single moment, & how many of us truly are? i find that setting intentions (daily, weekly, yearly) keeps me on track. & they are not set in stone, can always be renegotiated. thoughts?
taurus vibrates with the frequency of being comfortable—of feeling cosseted by the materiality of our lives. nothing wrong with wanting to sink into an overstuffed couch with netflix or a novel in one hand, a cup of tea in the other, chocolates within reach … unless we remain there forever.
krittika can be translated as “the cutter” & is where the moon is exalted, functions with utmost intelligence. this asterism brings a lesson about cutting through our illusions about the world &/or cutting away our emotional attachments so we can feel peaceful & content, comfortable in our heart.
it’s, well, i’m going with the twelfth lunar day, the twelfth phase of the waxing moon, even tho it was the eleventh phase at sunrise (sue me!), & is ruled by the sun, so we are supported in shining as gloriously as the sun, fulfilling our dharma, being true to ourselves.
monday is the moon’s day. moon is our feeling nature &, given its exaltation, it is a great good day to trust what you are feeling, what your heart knows to be true—i.e., your intuition. i know, it isn’t always easy—just try it & see how that goes.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
