it’s monday, january 30, & moon is in taurus, moving from the starspace called krittika into rohini this morning. taurus vibrates with the frequency of our comfort zone & it is where the moon is exalted, meaning it can express its qualities with utmost intelligence. what are those qualities? heart-centered connection & peace of mind, the ability to be vulnerable (safely vulnerable!) by courageously dismantling our protective strategies, being unguarded—which does not mean unboundaried! no, earthy taurus provides stability, boundaries, so that we don’t have to watch our back or front, so that we can be fully present & available in the present moment.
krittika is ruled by agni, the god of fire, who purifies our mind by burning away illusions. rohini is moon’s favorite place & is ruled by brahma, lord of creation. once our illusions are dispelled, we can see clearly & create the life of truth & beauty we want to see & experience & share with others. what illusions have you turned to ash? & how has that altered the vision of what you want to create, of how you want to bring beauty into the world?
it’s the tenth lunar day, the tenth phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in doing our dharma—doing what’s right for us, aligned with our integrity. we have no control over how our actions, being our truth, will affect others, or whether others are aligned with truth or not. if they don’t do the right thing, that’s on them, not us—all we can do is what we can do, which isn’t always satisfying, but it is what it is.
“whether you win or lose, it’s not important. what is important is that you perform your duty with the right attitude.”—radhanath swami
monday is infused with the spirit of the moon, the part of us that seeks connection with one & all, that knows one is all & all is one. this connection-seeking is our reunification, the healing of our separation, our sense of separation, our reknowing of who we are. yoga means “union” & is the means & the goal; the means take us to the goal, our remembrance of ourselves as one with all, as not separate. moon invites us to see ourselves in others & others in ourselves until we see no others. “how should we treat others?” asks sri ramana maharshi. “there are no others.”
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
