vishaka is the only asterism ruled by two deities, who happen to be indra & agni, the king & the priest, two of the biggest of the biggies. a king can’t rule without the support of the priest, who performs the sacrifices to keep the king on the throne. likewise, the priest depends on the king’s gold to keep his puja supplies well stocked, to keep a roof over his head & food in his mouth. the material (or political) & the spiritual need each other to exist, to coexist; they co-create our world, create balance.
there is a sense of competition here, the desire to rise to the throne, so to speak, a craving for power & recognition, thanks to indra, but thanks to agni’s fire, there is also wisdom & insight. let’s use our power wisely today!
the tenth phase of the waxing moon becomes the eleventh early this afternoon, so this morning we will need to take care of the responsibilities & duties that come from our kingly-/queenly-ness; once we dispatch the necessities of our material existence, we can address our spiritual life, by meditating or doing some yoga or even fasting.
& that’s your daily bliss—thursday is ruled by jupiter, who connects us to our highest purpose through our teachers & their teachings. jupiter’s name is guru, after all!
