it’s tuesday, july 14, & moon is still in aries but has moved into the starspace called bharani. aries invites us to tap into our passion for expressing ourselves in the world, for starting projects, striking out on our own or in a new direction.
bharani represents the doorway, the pathway, between worlds—between, say, the fertilization of a being & its birth, between the inception of an idea & its manifestation. today is a support for all manner of fertility.
it’s the tenth lunar day—a day to focus on our dharma, our soul’s purpose, which can be elusive. levin, in “anna karenina,” thought his soul purpose entailed the greater good of russia, but:
“whenever he had tried to do anything for the general good, for the good of humanity, for russia, for the province, for the village as a whole, he had observed that the idea of it had been pleasant but the activity it entailed had always been incoherent. there had never been full conviction of its absolute necessity, & the work itself, from at first appearing so great, had grown less & less, till it vanished into nothing.”
it wasn’t until he was back home with his family working his own land that “it seemed to him that he must do what he was doing—that he could not do otherwise.”
when we are doing our dharma, our soul’s work, it’s a feeling of not being able to do otherwise; it’s a deep knowing in the depths of our being & defies all the (false) notions our mind throws at us. for some of us that means, yes, working for the greater good of all in a big way, for others in a smaller, more personal way, maybe modeling how to live a harmonious life, as levin ultimately did. are you doing what you “could not do otherwise”?
mars rules tuesday. at his best, he’s that invincible spiritual warrior within us & he’s in a good place now so we should be able to fight the good fight when it comes to vanquishing the inner demons that keep us feeling a sense of separation.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
