it’s thursday, july 14, & moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called uttarashadha for a wee bit of time this morning then moves into shravana. capricorn vibrates with the frequency of getting serious about our lives. in the environment of capricorn we realize how extraordinary it is, given all the possibilities, to have been given a human birth & we stop wasting time, stop putting off tomorrow what can be done today, what we really want & mean to do in this precious lifetime.
in “a guide to the bodhisattva’s way of life,” master shantideva says:
“therefore the conqueror said that just like
a turtle putting its neck through the hole
of a yoke floating on a vast ocean,
a human life is extremely hard to find.”
uttarashadha (see yesterday’s post for more) brings a lesson about getting real (especially the part that occupies practical capricorn) about what inspires us, making sh@t happen. shravana brings a lesson about deep listening, about ultimately being able to listen so neutrally to the voice within that we can receive the wisdom there. we can work our listening muscle from the outside in by taking our lead from krishnamurti:
“there is an art to listening. we are accustomed to translating what is being said into our own terms & interpreting it according to our own understanding, background & tradition. is it not possible to listen as though we had no background at all?”
is it possible? what would it be like to try, to just listen without spinning, without attaching your own story? let me know how that goes!
it’s the first lunar day, the first phase of the waning moon. how are you going to use the waning phase to release obstacles to what you want to create? what intention are you setting? how are you turning resistance into action, a negative into a positive, a no into a yes?
thursday is owned by jupiter, aka guru. remember what i talked about yesterday about how we are ultimately our own guru, that, yes, gurus like master shantideva & krishnamurti & shri brahmananda sarasvati “merely” guide us to our inner knowing? well, i’ve got awesome backup from shri b: “ultimately inner guru, outer guru & god submerge into reality, which is called one-without-a-second.”
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
